The weather was warm and sunny making it an ideal day for an event at the beach.  Students from both campuses mingled together and everyone enjoyed the surf boarding and beach activities.  Many support staff members commented that the change of venue to the Ulverstone Surf Club and associated beach was an excellent choice.  Certainly the layout of Ulverstone Surf Club provided private changing facilities and also an expansive area overlooking the beach where students could relax, have a snack and watch others having fun on the surf boards.
Once again, we must thank the volunteers from Surf Lifesaving Tasmania who were committed to supporting the students on surf boards on the day.  Sharon Kemp who is a Polytechnic teacher proved herself as a great organizer.  This is Sharon’s fourth year acting in the co-ordinator’s role for the Surf Experience Day and I must conclude by stating that Sharon’s attention to detail in planning all aspects of the day is impeccable.
